**Rosemarie Lindt** is a German [actress](/source/Actress) and [ballet dancer](/source/Ballet_dancer) who was known to the wider audience for her appearances in *[Frau Wirtin](/source/The_Sweet_Sins_of_Sexy_Susan)* series in the late 1960s and in Italian [exploitation cinema](/source/Exploitation_cinema) of the 1970s.

## Ballet career

Lindt studied at [Folkwang University of the Arts](/source/Folkwang_University_of_the_Arts) under [Kurt Jooss](/source/Kurt_Jooss) and performed as the [prima ballerina](/source/Prima_ballerina) at [Opernhaus Wuppertal](/source/Opernhaus_Wuppertal), [Opernhaus Düsseldorf](/source/Opernhaus_D%C3%BCsseldorf), [Paris Opera](/source/Paris_Opera), and [Théâtre de la Ville](/source/Th%C3%A9%C3%A2tre_de_la_Ville).[1]

## Film career

By 1963, Lindt and her boyfriend [Jacques Herlin](/source/Jacques_Herlin) moved from [Paris](/source/Paris) to [Rome](/source/Rome) for Herlin's permanent employment at [Cinecittà](/source/Cinecitt%C3%A0) and Lindt soon found minor roles in cinema, starting with *La ballata dei mariti* (1963) and later *[Hercules the Invincible](/source/Hercules_the_Invincible)* (1964). She became a regular with Herlin in [Franz Antel](/source/Franz_Antel)'s acclaimed series *Frau Wirtin* from 1967 to 1970. In the 1970s, Lindt had appeared in many Italian exploitation films including [gialli](/source/Gialli), [poliziotteschi](/source/Poliziotteschi) and [horror films](/source/Horror_film) before retiring from acting in 1979.

## Later career

Lindt moved to [New York City](/source/New_York_City) after marrying Alfredo Piccolo and she has been operating the Lindt Ballet Theater with her husband. She also taught ballet at [Hunter College](/source/Hunter_College).[1]
