**Roselyn Emmanuel** is a Saint Lucian former [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who played as a [wicket-keeper](/source/Wicket-keeper) and right-handed [batter](/source/Batting_(cricket)). She appeared in three [One Day Internationals](/source/Women's_One_Day_International) for the [West Indies](/source/West_Indies_women's_cricket_team) at the [1997 World Cup](/source/1997_Women's_Cricket_World_Cup). She also played for, and captained, the [United States](/source/United_States_women's_national_cricket_team) at the 2009 Americas Championship. She played domestic cricket for [Saint Lucia](/source/Saint_Lucia_women's_national_cricket_team).[1][2]

## Career

Emmanuel represented the [West Indies](/source/West_Indies_women's_cricket_team) at the [1997 World Cup](/source/1997_Women's_Cricket_World_Cup) in India, appearing in all but one of her team's games.[3] However, she only kept wicket against [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand_women's_national_cricket_team),[4] instead playing as a specialist [opening batter](/source/Batting_order_(cricket)) in her other two appearances (against [India](/source/India_women's_national_cricket_team) and [Denmark](/source/Denmark_women's_national_cricket_team)).[5][6] Emmanuel continued playing for [Saint Lucia](/source/Saint_Lucia_women's_national_cricket_team) for several years after her World Cup appearances. However, she never returned to the West Indian team.[7] Emmanuel later emigrated to the United States, where she maintained her involvement with cricket. As one of the most experienced players in the country, she was appointed captain of the [United States](/source/United_States_women's_national_cricket_team) for the 2009 Americas Championship, its first international tournament.[8]
