# Ror

**Ror** (or **Rod**)[1] is a [caste](/source/Caste_system_in_India) found primarily in the [Indian states](/source/Indian_state) of [Haryana](/source/Haryana) and [Uttar Pradesh](/source/Uttar_Pradesh).[1]

## Occupation and culture

As of a 1990 report by the Government of Haryana, they were mostly engaged in farming, with some practising [animal husbandry](/source/Animal_husbandry).[2][3]

Located at [Karnal](/source/Karnal), the Ror Mahasabha functions to bring about social reforms.[3][4] Rors are traditional-[Hindus](/source/Hindu) by religion, though some are [Sikh](/source/Sikh) and a small percentage follows the [Arya Samaj](/source/Arya_Samaj). [Holi](/source/Holi) and [Diwali](/source/Diwali) are the major festivals celebrated.[2][3]
