# Ronny Aukrust

**Ronny Holen Aukrust** (born 20 October 1975) is a Norwegian politician and deputy member of the [Storting](/source/Storting). A member of the [Labour Party](/source/Labour_Party_(Norway)), he has represented [Østfold](/source/%C3%98stfold_(Storting_constituency)) since October 2025.[1]

## Early life

Aukrust was born on 20 October 1975 in [Kråkstad](/source/Kr%C3%A5kstad).[1][2] The family moved to [Askim](/source/Askim) in 1977, where Aukrust has lived ever since.[2] He went to primary school in Korsgård and junior high school in [Løken](/source/L%C3%B8ken).[2] Aukrust was a [blårussen](/source/Bl%C3%A5russen) and studied commerce and office management at [Mysen Upper Secondary School](/source/Mysen_Upper_Secondary_School) in [Mysen](/source/Mysen).[2] He studied accounting at the [Merkantilt Institutt](/source/Merkantilt_Institutt) in [Oslo](/source/Oslo).[2]

## Career

After school, Aukrust worked as an accountant before joining software company [Visma](/source/Visma) in 2002.[2][3]

### Politics

Aukrust joined the [Labour Party](/source/Labour_Party_(Norway)) in 2017.[2] He is leader of the Labour Party in [Indre Østfold](/source/Indre_%C3%98stfold_Municipality) and a member of the local [municipal council](/source/Municipal_council).[3] He was leader of the [commuter](/source/Commuter) association in Indre Østfold.[4] He was the Labour Party's fifth placed candidate in [Østfold](/source/%C3%98stfold_(Storting_constituency)) at the [2025 parliamentary election](/source/2025_Norwegian_parliamentary_election), but the party won only four seats in the constituency.[5] Aukrust became the party's first [deputy representative](/source/List_of_deputy_members_of_the_Storting) (*Vararepresentant*) in the constituency.[6] He entered the Storting on 1 October 2025 as a permanent substitute for [Minister of Transport](/source/Minister_of_Transport_of_Norway) [Jon-Ivar Nygård](/source/Jon-Ivar_Nyg%C3%A5rd).[1] He is a member of the [Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs](/source/Standing_Committee_on_Scrutiny_and_Constitutional_Affairs)[1] and was also elected by the Storing to be a part of the Norwegian delegation to the [Nordic Council](/source/Nordic_Council).[7]

## Personal life

Aukrust has four children.[2]
