He turned professional with the [1994–95 season](/source/1994%E2%80%9395_ECHL_season), initially suiting up with the [Greensboro Monarchs](/source/Greensboro_Monarchs) of the [ECHL](/source/ECHL), before transferring to the [Tallahassee Tiger Sharks](/source/Tallahassee_Tiger_Sharks). He played the following year (1995–96) with IHL's [Utah Grizzlies](/source/Utah_Grizzlies) and then spent the 1996–97 season with the [Canada men's national ice hockey team](/source/Canada_men's_national_ice_hockey_team), before pursuing his professional career in Europe.

==Coaching career==
