Law's ten-season pro career began in the [Chicago Cubs](/source/Chicago_Cubs) organization in 1964. He spent 1964 with the [Treasure Valley Cubs](/source/Treasure_Valley_Cubs) and 1965 with the [Quincy Cubs](/source/Quincy_Cubs), where he had a 11–8 [win–loss record](/source/win%E2%80%93loss_record_(pitching)) and a 2.23 [earned run average](/source/earned_run_average) (ERA) in 29 games.<ref name=brm>{{cite web|url=https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=law---001ron|title=Ron Law Minor & Mexican League Stats|publisher=Baseball-Reference.com|accessdate=June 16, 2025}}</ref> In 1966, Law was promoted to the [Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs](/source/Dallas-Fort_Worth_Spurs), where he finished the year with a 10–11 record and a 3.10 ERA in 36 games.<ref name=brm/> He split the 1967 season with Dallas-Fort Worth and the [Lodi Crushers](/source/Lodi_Crushers), and split the 1968 season between Lodi and the [San Antonio Missions](/source/San_Antonio_Missions).
