'''Ronald Forrest Cash''' (November 20, 1949 – April 22, 2009) was an American [utility player](/source/utility_player) in [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) who played from {{mlby|1973}} through {{mlby|1974}} for the [Detroit Tigers](/source/Detroit_Tigers). Listed at {{height|ft=6|in=0}}, 180 lb., Cash batted and threw right-handed. He was born in [Atlanta, Georgia](/source/Atlanta%2C_Georgia).

Cash attended [Manatee Community College](/source/Manatee_Community_College) and [Florida State University](/source/Florida_State_University), appearing in the 1968 Junior College World Series and [1970 College World Series](/source/1970_College_World_Series). He was drafted five times and never signed, being selected by the [Los Angeles Dodgers](/source/Los_Angeles_Dodgers) (1967), [Baltimore Orioles](/source/Baltimore_Orioles) (1968), [Atlanta Braves](/source/Atlanta_Braves) (1968), [San Diego Padres](/source/San_Diego_Padres) (1969) and [Minnesota Twins](/source/Minnesota_Twins) (1969).

Finally, Cash signed with Detroit in 1971 and debuted with the Tigers on September 4, 1973,<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/DET/1973-batting-orders.shtml|title = 1973 Detroit Tigers Batting Orders}}</ref> hitting a .410 [batting average](/source/batting_average_(baseball)) (16-for-39) in 14 games. He divided his playing time between [left field](/source/left_field) and [third base](/source/third_base), while in 1974 he appeared mostly at [first base](/source/first_base) and third.

Cash also played for Triple-A [Toledo Mud Hens](/source/Toledo_Mud_Hens) in 1973 and for the [Cangrejeros de Santurce](/source/Cangrejeros_de_Santurce_(baseball)) of the [Puerto Rico Baseball League](/source/Puerto_Rico_Baseball_League) in the 1973–1974 season under [manager](/source/manager_(baseball)) [Frank Robinson](/source/Frank_Robinson).

In a two-season majors career, Cash was a .297 hitter (30-for-101) in 34 games, including 14 [runs](/source/run_(baseball)), 11 [runs batted in](/source/runs_batted_in), three [doubles](/source/double_(baseball)), one [triple](/source/triple_(baseball)), and a .324 [on-base percentage](/source/on-base_percentage). He made 32 appearances, at first base (15), third base (10) and left field (7).
