In 2001, Butenko moved to the [Ukrainian First League](/source/Ukrainian_First_League) club [Polissya Zhytomyr](/source/FC_Polissya_Zhytomyr). 

===Metalist Kharkiv===
In January 2008, Butenko moved to [Metalist Kharkiv](/source/FC_Metalist_Kharkiv).
