By the 1920s he acted at [Paramount](/source/Paramount_Pictures), [Fox](/source/Fox_Broadcasting_Company), [Universal](/source/Universal_Pictures) and for [Thomas H. Ince](/source/Thomas_H._Ince). After his last film in 1925 he returned to [Broadway](/source/Broadway_theatre) for the remainder of his career. Bottomley died in [New York](/source/New_York_City) at the beginning of 1947.
