==Political career==
Soloman entered politics in 1993, running in the [provincial election that year](/source/1993_Prince_Edward_Island_general_election).  He was elected to the Legislative Assembly, representing the [riding](/source/Electoral_district_(Canada)) of [1st Kings](/source/1st_Kings).  He served on various legislative committees, most notably as chair of the Special Committee on Proposed Tax Harmonization during his final year in the legislature.<ref name="Leg bio"/>

Soloman chose not to run in the [1996 election](/source/1996_Prince_Edward_Island_general_election).  Instead, he acted as campaign chair for Premier [Keith Milligan](/source/Keith_Milligan).  He also served in that capacity for [Lawrence MacAulay](/source/Lawrence_MacAulay), the federal [Member of Parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament_(Canada)) for [Cardigan](/source/Cardigan_(electoral_district)).<ref name="Leg bio"/>
