# Roger Giles

**Roger David Giles** is an Australian jurist. He is a former judge of the Court of Appeal of the [Supreme Court of New South Wales](/source/Supreme_Court_of_New_South_Wales),[1] the highest court in the State of [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales), [Australia](/source/Australia), which forms part of the [Australian court hierarchy](/source/Australian_court_hierarchy). He retired as a Judge of Appeal on 23 December 2012.[2]

He has served as an international judge of the Singapore International [Commercial Court](/source/Business_courts) since its inception in 2015.[3]

## Education

Giles was educated at the [University of Sydney](/source/University_of_Sydney) and the [University of Oxford](/source/University_of_Oxford). Giles obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 1966 from the University of Sydney.[4]
