'''Rodney H. Weston''' (born March 28, 1964) is a businessman and politician in [New Brunswick](/source/New_Brunswick), [Canada](/source/Canada). He represented the [Saint John](/source/Saint_John%E2%80%94Rothesay) [electoral district](/source/Electoral_district_(Canada)) as a [Member of Parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament_(Canada)) from 2008 until 2015.

==Biography==
Weston was born in [Saint John, New Brunswick](/source/Saint_John%2C_New_Brunswick), the son of Lester and Phyllis Weston. He was a post-secondary student at [New Brunswick Community College](/source/New_Brunswick_Community_College).

Weston owned and operated a gas station and also was a trucking contractor as well as chief of the St. Martins Volunteer Fire Department.

Weston entered public life in his service as deputy mayor for [St. Martins](/source/St._Martins%2C_New_Brunswick).

Weston ran to represent the riding of [Saint John-Fundy](/source/Saint_John-Fundy) in the [Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick](/source/Legislative_Assembly_of_New_Brunswick) as a [Progressive Conservative](/source/Progressive_Conservative_Party_of_New_Brunswick) member in the [1995 New Brunswick general election](/source/1995_New_Brunswick_general_election), coming second to [Liberal](/source/New_Brunswick_Liberal_Association) incumbent [Stuart Jamieson](/source/Stuart_Jamieson). He defeated Jamieson in [1999](/source/1999_New_Brunswick_general_election) and was [Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries & Aquaculture](/source/Department_of_Agriculture%2C_Fisheries_and_Aquaculture_(New_Brunswick)) from 2001 to 2003. In [2003](/source/2003_New_Brunswick_general_election), Jamieson defeated Weston when he ran for re-election. After the election, the province's [premier](/source/Premier_of_New_Brunswick), [Bernard Lord](/source/Bernard_Lord), hired him as his chief of staff.<ref>[http://www.gnb.ca/cnb/news/ex/2003e0812ex.htm Deputy minister appointments, promotions, new assignments, Office of the Premier]</ref>

In his first foray into federal politics, in [2008](/source/2008_Canadian_federal_election), Weston was elected as [Conservative](/source/Conservative_Party_of_Canada) MP for the electoral district of [Saint John](/source/Saint_John%E2%80%94Rothesay), defeating incumbent [Liberal](/source/Liberal_Party_of_Canada) [Paul Zed](/source/Paul_Zed). He was re-elected in [2011](/source/2011_Canadian_federal_election) but did not hold his seat, in the now renamed Saint John—Rothesay, when at the [2015 Canadian federal election](/source/2015_Canadian_federal_election) the Liberal Party of Canada won every seat east of Quebec. Weston personally lost to challenger [Wayne Long](/source/Wayne_Long), a business figure in Saint John.

Weston ran in Saint John—Rothesay again in [2019](/source/2019_Canadian_federal_election) but was not elected, coming second behind Long.
