# Roderick Riley

**Roderick Riley** (born March 11, 1981) is an American former [basketball](/source/Basketball) player. He played the [center](/source/Center_(basketball)) position and had a listed height and weight of 6'11" and 327 lbs. In 2009, he won the [Jordanian Premier League](/source/Jordanian_Premier_Basketball_League) with [Zain](/source/Zain_Club).

## Early life and college career

Riley attended [Beaumont Central High School](/source/Central_High_School_(Beaumont,_Texas)) in [Beaumont, Texas](/source/Beaumont,_Texas).[1] He played college basketball at [Prairie View A&M](/source/Prairie_View_A%26M_Panthers_basketball). Riley missed part of his sophomore season due to a knee injury.[2] He started his sophomore season and averaged 9.4 points per game. Riley lost 30 pounds going into his junior season.[3] He helped Prairie View A&M capture the [SWAC](/source/Southwestern_Athletic_Conference) regular season title as a junior. Riley eared Second Team All-SWAC honors.[4] Riley was suspended for four games during his senior season due to disciplinary reasons.[5]

## Professional career

Riley signed with [Mitteldeutscher BC](/source/Mitteldeutscher_BC) in January 2005 after a bitter transfer dispute with Ukraine club [BC Vozko](/source/BC_Vozko).[6] He averaged a team leading 10.8 rebounds per game for the season[7] and helped Mitteldeutscher finish first in the 1st Regionalliga Nord.[8]

In May 2005, Riley joined the [Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs](/source/Pennsylvania_ValleyDawgs) of the [USBL](/source/United_States_Basketball_League).[9] In the summer of 2005, Riley joined Coast Star of the [Jersey Shore Basketball League](/source/Jersey_Shore_Basketball_League). In one game, he scored 32 points and had 18 rebounds and three blocks.[10]

In January 2006, he signed with [Ulsan Mobis](/source/Ulsan_Hyundai_Mobis_Phoebus) of the [Korean Basketball League](/source/Korean_Basketball_League).[11] He left the team in March after suffering a knee injury.[12]

He played several seasons in the [D League](/source/NBA_Development_League) for the [Fayetteville Patriots](/source/Fayetteville_Patriots) and from 2006 to 2007 he played for the [Bakersfield Jam](/source/Bakersfield_Jam). In 2018, Riley joined the [Colorado 14ers](/source/Colorado_14ers).[13]

In April 2009, Riley signed with Jordanian club [Zain](/source/Zain_Club)[14] where he went on to win the [Jordanian Premier League](/source/Jordanian_Premier_Basketball_League).[15] He also played for the team during the [2009 FIBA Asia Champions Cup](/source/2009_FIBA_Asia_Champions_Cup) where it finished as the runner-up.[16]
