# Robin Bell

**Robin Bell** (born 16 November 1977 in [Cape Town](/source/Cape_Town)) is a South African-born, Australian [slalom canoeist](/source/Whitewater_slalom) who competed from the late 1990s to the late 2000s. Competing in three [Summer Olympics](/source/Summer_Olympics), he won a bronze medal in the [C1 event](/source/Canoeing_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_slalom_C-1) in [Beijing](/source/Beijing) in [2008](/source/2008_Summer_Olympics).[1]

Bell also won a complete set of medals in the C1 event at the [ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships](/source/ICF_Canoe_Slalom_World_Championships) with a gold in [2005](/source/2005_ICF_Canoe_Slalom_World_Championships), a silver in [1999](/source/1999_ICF_Canoe_Slalom_World_Championships) and a bronze in [2007](/source/2007_ICF_Canoe_Slalom_World_Championships).[2]

He won the overall [World Cup](/source/Canoe_Slalom_World_Cup) title in C1 in [2005](/source/2005_Canoe_Slalom_World_Cup) and [2008](/source/2008_Canoe_Slalom_World_Cup).

He was named [Western Australian Sports Star of the Year](/source/Western_Australian_Sports_Star_of_the_Year) in 2005, and became world number one in 2006.
