**Vincenzo Leone**[1] (24 July 1879 – 10 January 1959),[1] known professionally as **Roberto Roberti**, was an Italian actor, screenwriter and film director. He made over sixty films, mostly during the [silent era](/source/Silent_era). He was married to the actress [Bice Waleran](/source/Bice_Waleran). Their son [Sergio Leone](/source/Sergio_Leone) became a celebrated director.[2]

During the 1910s Roberti made a number of films for the [Turin](/source/Turin)-based [Aquila Films](/source/Aquila_Films), often featuring his wife in a leading role. He then moved to [Caesar Film](/source/Caesar_Film) where he directed eighteen films starring the [diva](/source/Diva) [Francesca Bertini](/source/Francesca_Bertini).[1]
