He made over sixty films, mostly during the [silent era](/source/Silent_era). He was married to the actress [Bice Waleran](/source/Bice_Waleran). Their son [Sergio Leone](/source/Sergio_Leone) became a celebrated director.[2] During the 1910s Roberti made a number of films for the [Turin](/source/Turin)-based [Aquila Films](/source/Aquila_Films), often featuring his wife in a leading role.
