Born in [Isla Colón](/source/Col%C3%B3n_Island), [Bocas del Toro](/source/Bocas_del_Toro_Province), with [Chinese](/source/Ethnic_Chinese_in_Panama) heritage, Chen graduated from [San Francisco](/source/San_Francisco_F.C.)'s youth setup, and made his senior debuts in the 2010–11 campaign, aged only 17.
