**Roberta R. Goldman** (born March 30, 1938 in [Cambridge, Massachusetts](/source/Cambridge%2C_Massachusetts)) is an American politician who served one term in the [Massachusetts House of Representatives](/source/Massachusetts_House_of_Representatives).

## Biography

Goldman was born on March 30, 1938 in [Cambridge, Massachusetts](/source/Cambridge%2C_Massachusetts). She received her [Bachelor of Arts](/source/Bachelor_of_Arts) and [Master of Education](/source/Master_of_Education) from [Boston University](/source/Boston_University), and her [Master of Arts in Special Education](/source/Master_of_Arts_in_Special_Education) from [Assumption College](/source/Assumption_University_(Worcester)). Outside of being a politician, Goldman worked as a teacher in [Shrewsbury, Massachusetts](/source/Shrewsbury%2C_Massachusetts), where she served on the local Democratic Town Committee.[1]

She was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1984, beating Republican Richard Aronovitz by 94 votes.[2] She ran for re-election in 1986, but lost to Republican challenger [Peter Blute](/source/Peter_Blute).[3]

In 2000, Goldman served as an elector from Massachusetts in the [2000 United States presidential election](/source/2000_United_States_presidential_election).[4]
