'''Robert Van Talkington''' (August 23, 1929–December 26, 2010) was an American politician who served as a [Republican](/source/United_States_Republican_Party) in the [Kansas State Senate](/source/Kansas_State_Senate) and [Kansas House of Representatives](/source/Kansas_House_of_Representatives) from 1969 to 1988.
Talkington was born in Texas, and attended [Tyler Junior College](/source/Tyler_Junior_College) before transferring to the [University of Kansas](/source/University_of_Kansas) on a [football](/source/college_football) and [baseball](/source/baseball) scholarship; he graduated with a bachelor's degree in education in 1951.
