**Robert Reitsch** (January 11, 1906 – September 4, 1998) was an American [college football](/source/College_football) player. A prominent [center](/source/Center_(gridiron_football)), he was the [captain](/source/Captain_(sports)) of the national champion [1927 Illinois Fighting Illini football team](/source/1927_Illinois_Fighting_Illini_football_team),[1][2] chosen first-team All-American by some selectors.[3] Reitsch was a native of [Rockford](/source/Rockford%2C_Illinois).

He was later secretary of the alumni association.[4]
