# Robert Hitch

English Anglican priest

**Robert Hitch,** was an English [Anglican](/source/Anglican) priest.[1]

Hitch was educated at [Trinity College, Cambridge](/source/Trinity_College%2C_Cambridge).[2] The [Rector](/source/Living_(Christianity)) of [Adel](/source/Adel%2C_Leeds), he became [Archdeacon of Leicester](/source/Archdeacon_of_Leicester) in 1661,[3] [Archdeacon of the East Riding](/source/Archdeacon_of_the_East_Riding) in 1662[4] and [Dean of York](/source/Dean_of_York) in 1665.[5] He died on 10 February 1667.
