**Robert Gordon** (August 21, 1913 in [Pittsburgh](/source/Pittsburgh) – December 1, 1990 in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles)) was an American director and actor.[1] His acting career, in which he was usually credited as **Bobby Gordon**, began in 1923 while he was a child, and continued through 1939. His first directing credit came with the 1947 film *[Blind Spot](/source/Blind_Spot_(1947_film))*, after which he directed several films, including *[The Joe Louis Story](/source/The_Joe_Louis_Story)* in 1953, *[It Came from Beneath the Sea](/source/It_Came_from_Beneath_the_Sea)* in 1955,[2] *[Black Zoo](/source/Black_Zoo)* in 1963; and television series episodes including *[My Friend Flicka](/source/My_Friend_Flicka_(TV_series))*,[3] *[Zane Grey Theater](/source/Zane_Grey_Theater)*, *[The Texan](/source/The_Texan_(TV_series))*, *[Bonanza](/source/Bonanza),* and *[The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis](/source/The_Many_Loves_of_Dobie_Gillis)*. Except for [Myrna Loy](/source/Myrna_Loy), who died in 1993, he was the last surviving cast member of *[The Jazz Singer](/source/The_Jazz_Singer)*.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*][4] Gordon directed one film under the pseudonym Robert Edwards, *[Thunder in the Pines](/source/Thunder_in_the_Pines)*, in 1948.[5]

Robert Gordon died in 1990 and is interred at [Eden Memorial Park Cemetery](/source/Eden_Memorial_Park_Cemetery) in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles).
