**Robert Gravem Webb** (February 18, 1927 – September 18, 2018[1]) was an [American](/source/Americans) [herpetologist](/source/Herpetology), expert in the [systematics](/source/Systematics) and [biogeography](/source/Biogeography) of reptiles and amphibians, and professor emeritus of [biological science](/source/Biological_science) at the [University of Texas, El Paso](/source/University_of_Texas%2C_El_Paso).[2]

Webb received his [Ph.D.](/source/Doctor_of_Philosophy) in zoology from the [University of Kansas](/source/University_of_Kansas) in 1960.[2]

Webb had over a hundred publications to his name. He specialized in amphibians and reptiles of the southwestern [United States](/source/United_States) and [Mexico](/source/Mexico).[1][3]

The snake *[Lampropeltis webbi](/source/Lampropeltis_webbi)* is named after him.[2][4]
