**Robert Dunning** (born June 23, 1997) is an American [hurdler](/source/Hurdler). He was the [2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships](/source/2021_NCAA_Division_I_Outdoor_Track_and_Field_Championships) winner in the [110 metres hurdles](/source/110_metres_hurdles).

## Biography

Dunning grew up in [Atlanta](/source/Atlanta), Georgia, where he attended [Kennesaw Mountain High School](/source/Kennesaw_Mountain_High_School) and won Class 6A state titles in the [300 metres hurdles](/source/300_metres_hurdles) and [high jump](/source/High_jump).[4]

After high school graduation, Dunning competed on the [South Plains College Texans](/source/South_Plains_College_Texans) track and field team, an [NJCAA](/source/NJCAA) school. After winning NJCAA titles in the 110 metres hurdles and high jump, he transferred to the [Alabama Crimson Tide track and field](/source/Alabama_Crimson_Tide_track_and_field) team.[4]

His NCAA career was highlighted by his 2021 season, when he went undefeated in all 110 m hurdles races including a win at the [2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships](/source/2021_NCAA_Division_I_Outdoor_Track_and_Field_Championships).[4] His performance was the first track and field title for Alabama men since 2014.[5] His time of 13.25 seconds was also the fastest performance into a [headwind](/source/Headwind) in NCAA championship history.[6][7]

In 2023, Dunning set his personal best of 13.09 seconds in the 110 m hurdles competing at the inaugural [Adidas Atlanta City Games](/source/Adidas_Atlanta_City_Games).[8]
