**Robert Christopher "Robb" Wells** (born March 20, 1971)[1] is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) [actor](/source/Actor), [comedian](/source/Comedian), and [screenwriter](/source/Screenwriter) best known for portraying [Ricky](/source/Ricky_LaFleur) in *[Trailer Park Boys](/source/Trailer_Park_Boys)*.

## Early life

Wells was graduated from [Saint Mary's University](/source/Saint_Mary's_University_(Halifax)) in 1993 with a [Bachelor of Commerce](/source/Bachelor_of_Commerce) degree.[2][3] In January 2006, *[The Globe and Mail](/source/The_Globe_and_Mail)* published an article in which it was revealed that Wells is a distant cousin of the former [Prime Minister of Canada](/source/Prime_Minister_of_Canada), [Stephen Harper](/source/Stephen_Harper).[4]

## Career

In 2002, Wells appeared with [John Paul Tremblay](/source/John_Paul_Tremblay) and [John Dunsworth](/source/John_Dunsworth) in the film *[Virginia’s Run](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Virginia%E2%80%99s_Run&action=edit&redlink=1)* starring [Gabriel Byrne](/source/Gabriel_Byrne) and [Joanne Whalley](/source/Joanne_Whalley), playing characters similar to their *[Trailer Park Boys](/source/Trailer_Park_Boys)* characters. Wells also featured in *[The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day](/source/The_Boondock_Saints_II%3A_All_Saints_Day)*.

In 2010, Wells reunited with many of his former *Trailer Park Boys* cast-mates in the new series *[The Drunk and On Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour](/source/The_Drunk_and_On_Drugs_Happy_Fun_Time_Hour)*.[5] Wells appeared in the film *[Hobo with a Shotgun](/source/Hobo_with_a_Shotgun)*, released to theaters on March 25, 2011. In August 2011, Wells made a cameo appearance in the independent film *Jackhammer*, shot in [Victoria, British Columbia](/source/Victoria%2C_British_Columbia). Wells also appeared as a radical Nova Scotian separatist freedom fighter/terrorist in the [FX](/source/FX_(TV_channel)) TV series *[Archer](/source/Archer_(2009_TV_series))* in its [third season](/source/Archer_(season_3)) in an episode entitled "The Limited." His *Trailer Park Boys* co-stars [John Paul Tremblay](/source/John_Paul_Tremblay) and [Mike Smith](/source/Mike_Smith_(actor)) also had credited voice-over roles in the episode. Wells also starred in the horror movie *[Would You Rather](/source/Would_You_Rather_(film))* in 2012 as Peter.

In October 2012, Wells, along with Tremblay and Smith, signed on to return to *[Trailer Park Boys](/source/Trailer_Park_Boys)* in a [third film](/source/Trailer_Park_Boys_3%3A_Don't_Legalize_It) that started filming in March 2013 and was released April 18, 2014.

On July 4, 2013, it was announced that Wells, Tremblay and Smith had acquired the rights to *Trailer Park Boys* and confirmed it would return with eighth and ninth seasons to be aired on the internet channel SwearNet.com.[6] Seasons 8 through 12 of *[Trailer Park Boys](/source/Trailer_Park_Boys)* aired on [Netflix](/source/Netflix), beginning on September 5, 2014.

In 2014, Wells co-starred, co-wrote, and co-produced [Swearnet](/source/Swearnet) with his Trailer Park Boys colleagues.
