## Biography

White playing for Northamptonshire

Born 15 October 1979, [Chelmsford](/source/Chelmsford), Essex, White received his upper school education at [Stowe School](/source/Stowe_School) in Buckinghamshire before attending [Durham](/source/Durham_University) ([St John's College](/source/St_John's_College%2C_Durham)) and [Loughborough](/source/Loughborough_University) Universities.[1]

He played [cricket](/source/Cricket) for [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club). He was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman) and bowl [off breaks](/source/Off_break). His [limited overs](/source/Limited_overs_cricket) high score was 111 versus [Warwickshire](/source/Warwickshire) at [Northampton](/source/Northampton) in 2008, while his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) high score is 277 versus [Gloucester](/source/Gloucester) at [Northampton](/source/Northampton), which holds the record for the highest maiden [century](/source/Century_(cricket)) in the United Kingdom including 107 before lunch on the first day. During the same [innings](/source/Innings), he set the club's record first wicket partnership of 375 with [Mark Powell](/source/Mark_Powell_(cricketer%2C_born_1980)). His nickname amongst teammates is 'Toff', whilst a 'player profile' set up for a televised [Twenty20](/source/Twenty20) match listed his 'favourite food' as 'anything posh' – a joke by team-mates. His brother-in-law, [Ryan Cummins](/source/Ryan_Cummins), has also played for [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club).

In July 2012, it was announced that White would be leaving the Northamptonshire club at the season end.[2]
