**Rob Russell** (born 13 January 1999) is an [Irish](/source/Irish_people) [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player for [Gallagher Premiership](/source/Gallagher_Premiership) and [European Rugby Champions Cup](/source/European_Rugby_Champions_Cup) side [Gloucester](/source/Gloucester_Rugby). His preferred position is [wing](/source/Wing_(rugby_union)) or [fullback](/source/Fullback_(rugby_union)).[1]

## Career

Russell was named in the [Leinster Rugby](/source/Leinster_Rugby) academy for the 2021–22 season.[2] He made his debut in Round 2 of the [2021–22 United Rugby Championship](/source/2021%E2%80%9322_United_Rugby_Championship) against the [Dragons](/source/Dragons_RFC).[3] Leinster Rugby announced Russell's first senior contract with the club on 20 April 2023[4]

In May 2025, it was announced that Russell would be leaving Leinster at the end of the [2024–25 season](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_United_Rugby_Championship).[5] In June 2025, it was announced that he would be joining [Gloucester](/source/Gloucester_Rugby) in the [English Premiership](/source/Premiership_Rugby) from the start of the [2025–26 season](/source/2025%E2%80%9326_Premiership_Rugby).[6]
