**Rob Patterson** (born November 9, 1970) is an American guitarist.

## Background

Patterson was born in [Natick, Massachusetts](/source/Natick%2C_Massachusetts). His first major act was the female-fronted metal band [Otep](/source/Otep).[1] He wrote and played on the albums *[Sevas Tra](/source/Sevas_Tra)*, *[House of Secrets](/source/House_of_Secrets_(album))* and *[Smash the Control Machine](/source/Smash_the_Control_Machine)*.

He was a touring guitarist for [Korn](/source/Korn) from July 2005 to March 2008 after the departure of [Brian "Head" Welch](/source/Brian_%22Head%22_Welch).

In April 2008, Patterson became engaged to [Carmen Electra](/source/Carmen_Electra),[2] but they never wed and split in 2012.[3][4]

He is also one of the characters in the book *[Sex Tips from Rock Stars](/source/Sex_Tips_from_Rock_Stars)* by Paul Miles that was published by [Omnibus Press](/source/Omnibus_Press) in July 2010.[5]

Patterson made a cameo appearance as a police officer in the 2015 [slasher](/source/Slasher_film) short film *Massacre*, written by New Zealand [Suicide Girl](/source/Suicide_Girl) Pandie Suicide (also known as [Pandie James](/source/Pandie_James)) and directed by Erik Boccio.[6] He also co-scored the film with [Jeordie White](/source/Jeordie_White) of [Marilyn Manson](/source/Marilyn_Manson_(band)) for which the film won an honorable mention award for its score at its debut screening at Fantasmagorical Film Festival in [Louisville, Kentucky](/source/Louisville%2C_Kentucky) in August 2015.[7]
