**Riyadh Governorate** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): محافظة الرياض) is one of the 22 [governorates](/source/List_of_governorates_of_Saudi_Arabia) (*muhafzah*) of [Riyadh Province](/source/Riyadh_Province) that contains the city of [Riyadh](/source/Riyadh), capital of [Saudi Arabia](/source/Saudi_Arabia)[1][2][3][4][5] alongside five other towns and neighborhoods.[6][7] It shares borders with the Rumah governorate to the north, [al-Kharj governorate](/source/Al-Kharj) to the south, Huraymila, Thadiq, [Diriyah](/source/Diriyah_Governorate) and Durumah governorates to the west and [Eastern Province's](/source/Eastern_Province%2C_Saudi_Arabia) [Al-Ahsa governorate](/source/Al-Ahsa_Governorate) to the east.
