The **River Trade Terminal** (**RTT**) is the only [container terminal](/source/Container_terminal) in [Hong Kong](/source/Hong_Kong) for river [cargo](/source/Cargo). The operator is known as **River Trade Terminal Company Limited**. Located in [Siu Lang Shui](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Siu_Lang_Shui&action=edit&redlink=1) / [Pillar Point](/source/Pillar_Point_(Hong_Kong)), within [Tuen Mun Town](/source/Tuen_Mun_Town), [Tuen Mun District](/source/Tuen_Mun_District), it mainly handles and consolidates [container](/source/Intermodal_container) and [bulk cargo](/source/Bulk_cargo) from upstream prior to dispatch to [Kwai Tsing Container Terminals](/source/Kwai_Tsing_Container_Terminals) and vice versa.[2]

The company was established in 1996 and the terminal was completed in 1999.[3] The terminal occupies a 65 hectares (160 acres) site in [Tuen Mun](/source/Tuen_Mun) with 49 [berths](/source/Berth_(moorings)) along 3,000-metre (9,800 ft) of [quay](/source/Quay) front. Its [shareholders](/source/Shareholders) include [Hutchison Whampoa](/source/Hutchison_Whampoa) and [Sun Hung Kai Properties](/source/Sun_Hung_Kai_Properties).[4][5]
