# Rip Point

**Rip Point** ([62.2375°S 58.97903°W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=-62.23750_-58.97903)) is a point on [Nelson Island](/source/Nelson_Island_(South_Shetland_Islands)) forming the south side of the east entrance to [Fildes Strait](/source/Fildes_Strait), in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands). The name appears on a [British Admiralty](/source/British_Admiralty) chart showing the results of a survey by [DI](/source/Discovery_Investigations) personnel on the *[Discovery II](/source/RRS_Discovery_II)* in 1935.
