**Rin Sumida** (隅田 凜, *Sumida Rin*, born January 12, 1996) is a Japanese [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder). She plays for [Nippon TV Beleza](/source/Nippon_TV_Beleza) and the [Japan national team](/source/Japan_women's_national_football_team).

## Club career

Sumida was born in [Fujisawa](/source/Fujisawa,_Kanagawa) on January 12, 1996. She joined [Nippon TV Beleza](/source/Nippon_TV_Beleza) from youth team in 2012. In 2019, she moved to [Mynavi Vegalta Sendai](/source/Mynavi_Vegalta_Sendai_Ladies).[1]

## National team career

In 2012, Sumida played for [Japan U-17 national team](/source/Japan_women's_national_under-17_football_team) at [2012 U-17 World Cup](/source/2012_FIFA_U-17_Women's_World_Cup). She also played for [Japan U-20 national team](/source/Japan_women's_national_under-20_football_team) at [2016 U-20 World Cup](/source/2016_FIFA_U-20_Women's_World_Cup) and Japan won 3rd place.[2] On April 9, 2017, she debuted for [Japan national team](/source/Japan_women's_national_football_team) against [Costa Rica](/source/Costa_Rica_women's_national_football_team). In 2018, she was a member for [2018 Asian Cup](/source/2018_AFC_Women's_Asian_Cup) which Japan won. She played 22 games for Japan until 2018.
