**Rimi Tomy** is an Indian [playback singer](/source/Playback_singer), [Carnatic musician](/source/Carnatic_music), [television host](/source/Television_host) and actress. She started her career by anchoring music programs in television and sang her first song "Chingamasam Vannu Chernnal" in the 2002 film *[Meesa Madhavan](/source/Meesa_Madhavan)* with co-singer [Shanker Mahadevan](/source/Shankar_Mahadevan).[1]

She has anchored a number of television shows and has judged many [reality shows](/source/Reality_shows) of different genres throughout her career.[2][3] She made her debut as actress in the [Aashiq Abu](/source/Aashiq_Abu) film *[5 Sundarikal](/source/5_Sundarikal)*. She enacted her first lead role opposite [Jayaram](/source/Jayaram) in the 2015 film *[Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare](/source/Thinkal_Muthal_Velli_Vare)*.

## Early life

She was born to Tomy Joseph and Rani Tomy in a [Syro-Malabar Catholic](/source/Syro-Malabar_Church) family in [Pala, Kottayam](/source/Pala%2C_Kottayam).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] She has a sister, Reenu Tomy, and a brother, Rinku Tomy. ## Career

She started her career as a singer with the troupe Angel Voice. It was during a show with Angel Voice that mimicry artist, composer, and lyricist [Nadirshah](/source/Nadirshah) spotted her and recommended her to [Meesa Madhavan](/source/Meesa_Madhavan), film director [Lal Jose](/source/Lal_Jose), and film composer [Vidyasagar](/source/Vidyasagar_(composer)). It was from there that her singing career skyrocketed.

## Personal life

She married Royce Kizhakoodan on 27 April 2008 at Lourde Cathedral, [Thrissur](/source/Thrissur).
