'''Riley Rossmo''' is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) [comic book artist](/source/comic_book_artist) and illustrator, known for his work on various [Image Comics](/source/Image_Comics) titles, as well as [Marvel Comics](/source/Marvel_Comics)' ''Daken: Dark Wolverine''. Rossmo is an instructor at the [Alberta College of Art and Design](/source/Alberta_College_of_Art_and_Design).

==Personal life==
Originally from [Saskatoon](/source/Saskatoon), [Saskatchewan](/source/Saskatchewan), Rossmo now lives in [Calgary](/source/Calgary), [Alberta](/source/Alberta), Canada.{{citation needed|date=October 2015}}

==Career==
Rossmo is a graduate of the [Alberta College of Art and Design](/source/Alberta_College_of_Art_and_Design). His first professional work was producing illustrations for publications such as ''Avenue'', ''Calgary Inc'', ''[WestJet](/source/WestJet) magazine'' and ''[Scratch](/source/Scratch_(magazine))''.<ref>[http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/entertainment/story.html?id=5c9bf852-466a-4e88-99c4-e145d1f8878f "The proof is out there"], ''The Calgary Herald'', October 24, 2007, accessed June 29, 2011.</ref>

His first comic book work was a collaboration with writer [Alex Grecian](/source/Alex_Grecian) on ''[Seven Sons](/source/Seven_Sons)'', a graphic novel based on a Chinese folk legend. In 2007, he started work on ''[Proof](/source/Proof_(comics))'', also with Alex Grecian.<ref>[http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news/culture/story.html?id=ebf51ce9-4fb8-4b1f-ae7e-191e053eac28 "Proof on paper that Bigfoot exists"], ''The Edmonton Journal'', October 28, 2007, accessed June 29, 2011.</ref> Later, he collaborated with writer A.J. Lieberman on ''[Cowboy Ninja Viking](/source/Cowboy_Ninja_Viking)'' (2008–2011). Despite featuring a violent action story about an assassin with multiple personalities, Disney purchased film rights to the story, assigning writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to write a screenplay.<ref>Kit, Borys. In March, 2011, Rossmo's first issue of ''[Green Wake](/source/Green_Wake)'', with writer Kurtis J. Wiebe, was released. For ''[Green Wake](/source/Green_Wake)'' Rossmo adopted a limited palette, using different colors to indicate different times or states of reality in the narrative.<ref>Truitt, Brian. They have since announced that they are working together again on a mini-series titled ''Debris'' to be published in July, 2012.<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20120524221707/http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=38348 "Kurtis J. Wiebe Shuffles Through the 'Debris'"], ''Comic Book Resources'', April 25, 2012, accessed May 6, 2012.</ref>

''Rebel Blood'' is a horror comic about an infectious disease outbreak that affects both humans and animals. Published in March, 2012, this was the first comic that credited Rossmo as a writer. Co-written with Alex Link, the remote wilderness setting in the story was influenced by Rossmo's experiences canoeing at [Waskesui](/source/Prince_Albert_National_Park).<ref>McCoy, Heath. Rossmo and Alex Link are collaborating again on Drumhellar (originally titled Strangeways), released by Image Comics' Shadowline, with issue 1 released in November 2013.<ref>Richards, Ron [https://www.imagecomics.com/content/view/drumhellar-here-we-come], ''Image Comics'', August 18, 2013, accessed November 21, 2013</ref>

Rossmo and writer [Ales Kot](/source/Ales_Kot) are working on ''Wild Children'', a graphic novella about students rebelling against their teachers.<ref>Truitt, Brian. Rossmo has cited [Bill Sienkiewicz](/source/Bill_Sienkiewicz)'s illustrations for ''[The New Mutants](/source/The_New_Mutants_(comic_book))'' comic books as a major early influence on his art style.<ref>Rossmo, Riley.
