# Rietschen

**Rietschen** ([German](/source/German_language)) or **Rěčicy** (ˈʁʲɪtʃitsɨ) is a municipality in the [district of Görlitz](/source/G%C3%B6rlitz_(district)), [Saxony](/source/Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It consists of the *Ortsteile* (divisions) Rietschen, [Daubitz](/source/Daubitz), [Teicha](/source/Teicha_(Rietschen)), Altliebel, Hammerstadt and Neuliebel.[2]

The municipality is part of the recognized [Sorbian settlement area](/source/Sorbian_settlement_area) in Saxony. [Upper Sorbian](/source/Upper_Sorbian_language) has an official status next to German, all villages bear names in both languages.
