# Rick Chafe

**Rick Chafe** is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) playwright from [Winnipeg](/source/Winnipeg), [Manitoba](/source/Manitoba).[1] He is most noted for his play *The Secret Mask*, which was a shortlisted finalist for the [Governor General's Award for English-language drama](/source/Governor_General's_Award_for_English-language_drama) at the [2014 Governor General's Awards](/source/2014_Governor_General's_Awards).[2]

His other plays have included *Zac and Speth*,[3] *The Last Man and Woman on Earth*,[3] *Marriage: A Demolition in Two Acts*,[4] adaptations of [Homer](/source/Homer)'s *[The Odyssey](/source/The_Odyssey)*[3] and [Leon Rooke](/source/Leon_Rooke)'s *[Shakespeare's Dog](/source/Shakespeare's_Dog)*,[5] and a collaboration with Danny Schur on the musical *[Strike!](/source/Strike!_(musical))*.[3]
