# Richard Zellmann

**Richard L. Zellmann** is a [United States Army](/source/United_States_Army) [lieutenant general](/source/Lieutenant_general_(United_States)) who serves as the [deputy commander of the United States Space Command](/source/Deputy_commander_of_the_United_States_Space_Command). He previously served as the deputy combined joint force space component commander of the [United States Space Command](/source/United_States_Space_Command) and the command's deputy director for operations.[1][2][3][4][5]

In September 2023, Zellman was nominated for promotion to major general[6] and promoted in December.[1]
