"'''Rejection Slips'''" is a comic poem by American author [Isaac Asimov](/source/Isaac_Asimov), written in 1959 for the collection ''[Nine Tomorrows](/source/Nine_Tomorrows)''. It illustrates the three approaches of the most important editors in science fiction at the time ([John W. Campbell](/source/John_W._Campbell) of [Astounding](/source/Analog_Science_Fiction_and_Fact), [Horace Gold](/source/Horace_Gold) of ''[Galaxy Science Fiction](/source/Galaxy_Science_Fiction)'' and [Anthony Boucher](/source/Anthony_Boucher) of [''The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction''](/source/F%26SF)) when rejecting a story. Campbell sent lengthy and turgid analyses, Gold sent abusive little notes, and Boucher’s [rejection slip](/source/rejection_slip)s were so gentle that one wondered whether he was accepting the story or not.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.asimovreviews.net/Stories/Story319.html|title = Rejection Slips}}</ref>
