Playing [collegiately](/source/College_football) for [Clemson University](/source/Clemson_University), where he won a National Championship in 1981. He then played in the [Canadian Football League](/source/Canadian_Football_League) (CFL) for eleven seasons with the [Toronto Argonauts](/source/Toronto_Argonauts) and [Edmonton Eskimos](/source/Edmonton_Eskimos). He won a [Grey Cup](/source/Grey_Cup) with the Argonauts in 1991.
