# Reggie Burnette

**Reginald Burnette** (born October 4, 1968) is an American former professional [football](/source/American_football) player who was a [linebacker](/source/Linebacker) in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL). He played [college football](/source/College_football) for the [Houston Cougars](/source/Houston_Cougars_football).

## Early life

Burnette was born in [Rayville, Louisiana](/source/Rayville,_Louisiana).[1] He attended the [University of Houston](/source/University_of_Houston).[2]

## Career

Burnette was selected in the seventh round of the [1991 NFL draft](/source/1991_NFL_draft) by the [Green Bay Packers](/source/Green_Bay_Packers).[3] Burnette played three seasons in the NFL in the early 1990s. He played for the [Green Bay Packers](/source/Green_Bay_Packers) in 1991 and played for the [Tampa Bay Buccaneers](/source/Tampa_Bay_Buccaneers) in 1992 and 1993.
