**Reedy Island** is a small island in the middle of the channel of the Delaware River near its mouth on the [Delaware Bay](/source/Delaware_Bay) in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Delaware](/source/Delaware). It is about one mile (1.6 km) east of [Port Penn, Delaware](/source/Port_Penn%2C_Delaware) and five miles (8 km) southwest of [Salem, New Jersey](/source/Salem%2C_New_Jersey).

The island was the location of [Reedy Island Range Front Light](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Reedy_Island_Range_Front_Light&action=edit&redlink=1) and the Reedy Island [Quarantine Station](/source/Quarantine#US_quarantine_facilities). The [Reedy Island Range Rear Light](/source/Reedy_Island_Range_Rear_Light), in nearby Taylors Bridge, is a historic [lighthouse](/source/Lighthouse) first established in 1910. The light is operated by the [United States Coast Guard](/source/United_States_Coast_Guard). The nearby keeper's house was destroyed in 2002.
