'''Redfish Pass''' is a [strait](/source/strait) in [Florida](/source/Florida) that connects [Pine Island Sound](/source/Pine_Island_Sound) with the [Gulf of Mexico](/source/Gulf_of_Mexico). It also separates [Captiva Island](/source/Captiva_Island) on the south from [North Captiva Island](/source/North_Captiva_Island) on the north. The pass was created by the hurricane of 1921 which divided the once larger Captiva Island.<ref>{{cite web|last=Sarah|first=Rapp|title=North Captiva: Island Story|url=http://www.beachvacation4me.com/north-captiva-info.cfm?pageID=8|publisher=Beach Vacations 4 Me|accessdate=2 March 2013}}</ref> It is named after the many [redfish](/source/redfish) caught in its channel soon after formation, and remains a popular sports fishing destination in [Southwest Florida](/source/Southwest_Florida).
