Name of various Biblical figures

**Rechab** ([Hebrew](/source/Hebrew_language): רֵכָב *Rēḵāḇ*) is the name of three men in the [Bible](/source/Bible):

Rechab the father of Jonadab by [Hartmann Schedel](/source/Hartmann_Schedel)'s book called *[Nuremberg Chronicles](/source/Nuremberg_Chronicles)*

- One of the two "captains of bands" whom [Saul](/source/Saul_the_King)'s son [Ish-bosheth](/source/Ish-bosheth) took into his service, and who conspired to kill him. (2 Samuel 4:2)

- A [Kenite](/source/Kenite), mentioned as the father of [Jehonadab](/source/Jehonadab) at King [Jehu](/source/Jehu)'s time, from whom the tribe of the [Rechabites](/source/Rechabites) derived their name.[1] Jehonadab and his people had all along become worshippers of God.

- The father of [Malchiah](/source/Malchiah), ruler of part of [Beth-haccerem](/source/Beit_HaKerem_(Bible)). (Nehemiah 3:14)
