He would become one of the main authors of the [Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands](/source/Charter_for_the_Kingdom_of_the_Netherlands) in which Suriname became a [constituent country](/source/Kingdom_of_the_Netherlands) within the [Kingdom of the Netherlands](/source/Kingdom_of_the_Netherlands). On 29 December 1954, Pos was appointed [Minister Plenipotentiary of Suriname](/source/Minister_Plenipotentiary_of_Suriname), and served until 1 August 1963.
