Molinier was born in [Paris](/source/Paris).  In 1929, founded the journal ''[La Vérité](/source/La_V%C3%A9rit%C3%A9_(Trotskyist_journal))'',<ref name="marxists"/> and in March 1936 he and [Pierre Frank](/source/Pierre_Frank) co-founded the Parti communiste internationaliste, which merged with two other groups to form the [Parti ouvrier internationaliste](/source/Parti_ouvrier_internationaliste) in June of that year.<ref name="iish">{{cite web |url=http://www.iisg.nl/archives/en/files/l/10760171full.php |title=Ligue Communiste (France) Archives |publisher=[International Institute of Social History](/source/International_Institute_of_Social_History) |access-date=15 December 2010}}</ref> At the outbreak of [World War II](/source/World_War_II) Molinier was abroad and only returned after the [cessation of hostilities](/source/End_of_World_War_II_in_Europe).
