# Raymond Contrastin

**Raymond Contrastin** (born in [Agen](/source/Agen), on 5 April 1925 – 1985)[1] was a French [rugby league](/source/Rugby_league) footballer who played in the 1950s. A [France international](/source/France_national_rugby_league_team) representative winger, he has been inducted into the International [Rugby League Hall of Fame](/source/Rugby_League_Hall_of_Fame).

He started playing rugby union for SA Condom until 1947,[2] before joining [RC Roanne XIII](/source/RC_Roanne_XIII), with which he was French champion in 1928 and for [Bordeaux XIII](/source/Bordeaux_XIII), with which he won the 1954 title. Contrastin featured in the [1951 French rugby league tour of Australia and New Zealand](/source/1951_French_rugby_league_tour_of_Australia_and_New_Zealand), Les Chanticleers first such tour, during which they lost four of their 28 games.[3][4]

He played for France during the [1954 Rugby League World Cup](/source/1954_Rugby_League_World_Cup), including the final against Great Britain in which he scored a try.[1]
