The '''Ray Mountains''' is a mountain range in central [Alaska](/source/Alaska) named for the Ray River, itself named for [United States Army](/source/United_States_Army) Captain [Patrick Henry Ray](/source/Patrick_Henry_Ray), who established a meteorological station in [Barrow](/source/Barrow%2C_Alaska), [Alaska](/source/Alaska), in 1881.<ref>Donald J. The Ray Mountains cover an area of {{convert|10600|sqmi|0}} and are bordered on the east by the [Yukon River](/source/Yukon_River), on the south by the [Tozitna River](/source/Tozitna_River), and on the north by [Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge](/source/Kanuti_National_Wildlife_Refuge). The highest point in the Ray Mountains is [Mount Tozi](/source/Mount_Tozi), which has a summit elevation of {{convert|5519|ft|0}}. Other notable peaks include [Wolf Mountain](/source/Wolf_Mountain_(Alaska)), [Mount Henry Eakin](/source/Mount_Henry_Eakin), the [Kokrines Hills](/source/Kokrines_Hills), and [Moran Dome](/source/Moran_Dome).
