**Raphael Patrick Keyes** was an Irish [Fianna Fáil](/source/Fianna_F%C3%A1il) politician.

He was born in Cork, and was a cinema proprietor when elected to the [Oireachtas](/source/Oireachtas). During the [Irish War of Independence](/source/Irish_War_of_Independence) he was captain of the Bantry company of the fifth battalion of [Irish Republican Army](/source/Irish_Republican_Army_(1919%E2%80%931922)) (IRA) in West Cork.

He was first elected to [Dáil Éireann](/source/D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann) as a Fianna Fáil [Teachta Dála](/source/Teachta_D%C3%A1la) (TD) for the [Cork West](/source/Cork_West_(D%C3%A1il_constituency)) constituency at the [1932 general election](/source/1932_Irish_general_election).[1] He was lost his seat at the [1933 general election](/source/1933_Irish_general_election) but was elected to the Seanad at a [by-election](/source/By-election) on 2 January 1934.[2]
