==Education and career==

Born in [Sherman](/source/Sherman%2C_Texas), [Texas](/source/Texas), Bryant received a [Bachelor of Arts](/source/Bachelor_of_Arts) degree from [the University of Texas at Austin](/source/the_University_of_Texas_at_Austin) in 1913 and a [Bachelor of Laws](/source/Bachelor_of_Laws) from the [University of Texas School of Law](/source/University_of_Texas_School_of_Law) in 1916. He was a Captain in the [United States Army](/source/United_States_Army) during [World War I](/source/World_War_I) from 1917 to 1919. He entered private practice in Sherman from 1919 to 1921 and was thereafter the [United States Attorney](/source/United_States_Attorney) for the Eastern District of Texas from 1921 to 1931.<ref name="auto">{{FJC Bio|303|nid=1378481|name=Randolph Bryant<!--(1893–1951)-->}}</ref>

==Federal judicial service==

On December 3, 1930, Bryant was nominated by President [Herbert Hoover](/source/Herbert_Hoover) to a seat on the [United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas](/source/United_States_District_Court_for_the_Eastern_District_of_Texas) vacated by Judge [William Lee Estes](/source/William_Lee_Estes). Bryant was confirmed by the [United States Senate](/source/United_States_Senate) on January 13, 1931, and received his commission on January 24, 1931. He served in that capacity until his death on April 24, 1951.<ref name="auto"/>
