**Ramon Chibb** is an Indian [filmmaker](/source/Filmmaker), [producer](/source/Film_producer), [writer](/source/Writer) and [director](/source/Film_director) known for his work in [Hindi films](/source/Hindi_cinema) and [documentaries](/source/Documentaries). He is also a former [Indian Army](/source/Indian_Army) officer. He is the co-founder of Manomay Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd.[1]

## Personal life

Chibb was born in [Kanpur](/source/Kanpur), [Uttar Pradesh](/source/Uttar_Pradesh) to [Group Captain](/source/Group_Captain) M.L. Chibb[2] an [Indian Air Force](/source/Indian_Air_Force) officer and Vimala Chibb. Because of his father's transferrable job, Ramon grew up in various cities across the country viz [Jorhat](/source/Jorhat), [Wellington](/source/Wellington%2C_Tamil_Nadu), [Agra](/source/Agra), [Patiala](/source/Patiala), [Calcutta](/source/Calcutta), [Baroda](/source/Baroda), [Delhi](/source/Delhi), [Secunderabad](/source/Secunderabad) and [Ahmedabad](/source/Ahmedabad). He did his High School from [The Air Force School](/source/The_Air_Force_School), Delhi Cantt and graduation in economics from [St. Xavier's College Ahmedabad](/source/St._Xavier's_College%2C_Ahmedabad).

## Career

Chibb joined the [Indian Army](/source/Indian_Army) in 1990. He was commissioned into the 18th [Battalion](/source/Battalion) of [The Kumaon Regiment](/source/The_Kumaon_Regiment), one of the oldest and most decorated [infantry regiment](/source/Infantry_regiment) of the Indian Army. He served in the Indian Army till 1995.[3] After hanging his uniform, he learned filmmaking from his sister Rima Chibb,[4] a documentary filmmaker.[5]

Chibb began directing and producing documentaries, advertisements and TV independently in 1996. In 2003, he executive produced the first local production of the [National Geographic Channel](/source/National_Geographic_Channel) in India, titled *Mission [Everest](/source/Everest)*.[6] He has also directed reality shows and documentaries for [Zee](/source/Zee_Entertainment_Enterprises), [Star](/source/Starz_Entertainment), [National Geographic](/source/National_Geographic) and [UTV](/source/UTV_(TV_channel)).[7]

In 2005, Chibb was one of the founding members of the [Zee](/source/Zee_Entertainment_Enterprises) group when it forayed into the digital space. He was appointed [Vice President](/source/Vice_President), Head of Content for [Zee](/source/Zee_Entertainment_Enterprises)'s digital arm, DMCL.[8]

In 2007, he became [Vice President](/source/Vice_President), Head of Content and Operations for [UTV Bindass](/source/UTV_Bindass), a youth TV Channel launched by [UTV](/source/UTV_Software_Communications).[9]

In the year 2010 he was appointed [Senior Vice President](/source/Senior_Vice_President), Head of Content for [National Geographic](/source/National_Geographic_(American_TV_channel)) and [FOX](/source/Fox_(India)) in India.[10]

Chibb is best known for producing documentaries and TV shows revolving around the [Indian Military](/source/Indian_Military). He has produced and directed the first four ''Mission series'' for the [National Geographic](/source/National_Geographic). Besides ''*Mission Everest''*, he has produced and directed the series ''*Mission Udaan*''-*Inside [Indian Air Force](/source/Indian_Air_Force),*[11] *Mission [Navy](/source/Navy),*[12] and *Mission [Army](/source/Army)*.[13]

Since 2013, he is producing films and content under his own company, Manomay Motion Pictures.[14]

In 2020, Chibb [Produced](/source/Film_Producer) a [Netflix](/source/Netflix) Original film, *[Kaali Khuhi](/source/Kaali_Khuhi).*[15] The film has [Shabana Azmi](/source/Shabana_Azmi) and [Sanjeeda Sheikh](/source/Sanjeeda_Sheikh) in lead roles.

In 2022, he was the [Creative Consultant](/source/Creative_Consultant) for the film *[Laal Singh Chaddha](/source/Laal_Singh_Chaddha)*.[16]

Chibb is one of the [Producers](/source/Film_Producer) of the 2024 Aerial Action feature film *[Fighter](/source/Fighter_(2024_film)).*[17] He has written the [Screenplay](/source/Screenplay) of *[Fighter](/source/Fighter_(2024_film))* and is the [Second Unit Director](/source/Second_Unit_Director) of the film.[18][19] Chibb has co-written the story of the film along with director [Siddharth Anand](/source/Siddharth_Anand).[20] He has also acted in the film and played the role of [Air Commodore](/source/Air_Commodore) Abhinder Bali, Chief Instructor (Flying), [Air Force Academy](/source/Air_Force_Academy).[17] *[Fighter](/source/Fighter_(2024_film))* released on 25th Jan 2024[21]
