# Ralph Kimbell

**Ralph Raymond Kimbell** (12 June 1884 – 4 August 1964) was an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Kimbell's [batting](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) and [bowling](/source/Bowling_(cricket)) styles are unknown. He was born in [Boughton](/source/Boughton,_Northamptonshire), [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire).

Kimbell played his only [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) match for [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the 1908 [County Championship](/source/County_Championship) against [Essex](/source/Essex_County_Cricket_Club).[1] In this match, he was dismissed for a [duck](/source/Duck_(cricket)) by [Johnny Douglas](/source/Johnny_Douglas) in Northamptonshire's first-innings. In their second-innings he was dismissed for 4 runs by [Bill Reeves](/source/Bill_Reeves). With the ball, he took 2 wickets, those of [Arnold Read](/source/Arnold_Read) and [Walter Mead](/source/Walter_Mead_(cricketer)) in the Essex first-innings.[2]

Gilbert later made 2 [Minor Counties Championship](/source/Minor_Counties_Championship) appearances in 1925 for [Oxfordshire](/source/Oxfordshire_County_Cricket_Club) against [Monmouthshire](/source/Monmouthshire_County_Cricket_Club) and [Berkshire](/source/Berkshire_County_Cricket_Club).[3] He died on 4 August 1963.
